Many food corporations have no interest in the well-being of these animals. Foer states, "Approximately 30 percent of all live birds arriving at the slaughterhouse have freshly broken bones as a result of their Frankenstein genetics and rough treatment" (Foer, 132). These corporations are corrupted by their greed for money. No care is presented to these animals while they suffer until they are slaughtered.

Anthropocentric
It is a fact that human beings are by far the dominant species living on the planet today. Humans have began to develop a anthropocentric outlook. Which suggest that they are the most significant beings in the universe. This has caused the extinction and slaughtering of many species. According to scientists, fish may become extinct by the year 2050. Anthropocentrism has been looked at by environmentalists as the main reason humans continue to dominate this planet. However, many people believe its necessary for humans well-being to develop the planet. Human Exceptionalism refers to the belief that humans are meant to be the dominate species. Due to the rapid evolution of the human brain, we have capabilities that no other species posses. Our technology and inventions have made up for our lack of strength, speed, and awareness. In order to sustain this growth we have drained many of the earth's natural resources.
